HARDFACING

Effective hardfacing with tungsten fused carbide

TUNGSTEN CARBIDE HARDFACING

FLEXIBLE TUNGSTEN CARBIDE WELDING WIRES HUPMAT B AND HUPMAT BK ARE WELDING WIRES FOR PROCESSING WITH ACETYLENE / OXYGEN TORCHES

The advantage of this simple and economical welding process is that the hardness of tungsten carbides is preserved and not destroyed by high processing temperatures, as is the case with electric welding.

HUPMAT B and HUPMAT BK are available on spools of 20 kg each.

The wire diameter is 4 mm, 6 mm and 8 mm and can be welded on in thicknesses between 2 mm and 10 mm. HUPMAT B contains spatter/ fractured tungsten fused carbides at a hardness of 2000 HV.

HUPMAT BK contains spherical tungsten fused carbides at a hardness of 3000 HV.

BUILD-UP WELDING AND REGENERATION WITH 40 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

Build-up welding is a combined coating process using a high-alloy flux cored electrode and customized alloy powder, which is fed into the process.

BUILD-UP WELDING

EFFECTIVE ARMOURING WITH WEAR-RESISTANT FILLER WIRES

In build-up welding, coating of the same or similar material is welded onto existing components. This coating is used to restore the surface properties of components in the event of wear caused by abrasion or faulty machining. Thus, the properties of components are restored to their original condition or even improved.

Build-up welding is particularly suitable for repair welding on worn or corroded plant parts, but can also be used to improve the properties of components by applying a so-called hard armour coating.

In build-up welding, different coatings can be applied to both small and large components. Hard surfacing, stainless steel cladding, tungsten carbide coating are possible, in addition to the application of custom alloys or internal application of boreholes on different components.

As a certified specialist company, HUP Schweißtechnik performs build-up welding and repair welding with consistently high quality materials and processing. As a result, the current condition of components can be improved or basic properties upgraded.

Repair welding using the build-up welding technique is mainly used on equipment and equipment parts in the chemical industry, petrochemical industry, power plants, paper mills, but also in the food industry and other industries.

Our competent specialists can apply hardfacing to components in our workshops or directly on site. Thus, high-quality but defectively machined components can be fully restored or even improved in their functionality by hardfacing.

Hardfacing of components not only increases the service life of equipment, but also improves the wear resistance of particularly stressed machine and equipment parts. Thus, build-up welding is proven to be a reliable technique in surface processing for repair welding or hard surfacing to improve wear protection. In particular, high-quality components can be repaired or improved cost-effectively with this method.

Different coating thicknesses and the possibility of subsequent post-processing make repair welding a technologically sensible and economically viable form of restoring or improving the functionality and longevity of plant components in a wide range of industrial sectors. Bardenhagen’s highly trained employees perform top-quality work, which can significantly contribute to the efficient use of complex and high-quality equipment.
